Having worked for several big companies as a financial reporting specialist, Tamanna Chandhiok wanted to put more emphasis on sustainability. In 2023, she joined Cefetra Group. She is helping us make serious strides in ESG reporting. ‘I love the work I do, and I love the people I work with.’
‘My background is in financial reporting and Audit. With increasing demand in sustainability reporting, I started reading up on it and found it very interesting. I decided to look for an Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) oriented role. At a certain point, when I was working for a bank, Cefetra reached out to me via LinkedIn. They had the perfect role available.’
‘Sustainability is a topic that is close to home for me. My mother works in water industry. My father used to work for India’s National Railways, where he worked for sustainable projects. I was glad to hear Cefetra takes sustainability very seriously.’

‘My main task is to manage all the entities within Cefetra Group to improve our ESG reporting. The regulations are getting more stringent, so there is a lot of work to be done. I try to motivate everyone, inform them about everything we have to comply with, and make sure they are comfortable with the changes we’re making. It helps not to focus on how far we must go, but to just take one small step at a time.’
‘I love the work I do, and I love the people I work with. That’s a combination I haven’t seen at previous employers. The finance team at Cefetra Group is really nice. There is a strong sense of togetherness between the five of us.’
‘I also work with colleagues in Supply Chain, Trading, Shipping, Sustainability – everyone. There is so much to learn here from each team. I think it will take me at least a couple more years to fully understand every part of our business. If you are eager to learn, this is an exciting company to join.’
‘It’s a lot of work to keep up with the regulations and comply with them, so we are learning constantly. On top of that, there are many L&D options. You can just talk to your manager about them and the company will enable you if they see fit. There is an open flow of communication. The same goes for good ideas. I have seen colleagues come up with good ideas that have been implemented quickly. It’s in your hands, indeed.’
‘Cefetra has been very accommodating. Wherever you’re from, you feel you are welcome here. People are friendly and interested in your background. They all speak English, but I am also learning Dutch from my colleagues. That’s a lot of fun.’
‘Also, I have come to appreciate bitterballs. We always have them at our end-of-month drinks. It’s nice to have some beers together, play some darts, and hang out. At Cefetra, people know when to have fun and when to be serious.’
