Royal Ingredients Group, based in Alkmaar and part of the Cefetra Group, is a dynamic trading house with branches in the United States, China, Dubai, and Mexico. We specialize in the international trade of raw materials and ingredients, such as starches, sugars, and plant proteins, for the food, animal feed, and paper industries. The position

You will work both from our office in Alkmaar and on the road for customer visits and participation in trade fairs in South America.

The tasks associated with this position are:

• Identifying trade opportunities and develop the market in South America;

• You are responsible for building relationships and negotiating with customers and suppliers regarding prices, delivery terms, and contracts.

• Ensuring correct handling of all transactions in collaboration with others within the team;

• Expanding the network of customers and suppliers in the region;

• Preparing reports and analyses on trade activities.

Job requirements:

We are looking for a driven professional with experience in international trade. You have knowledge of logistics, currencies in international trade and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment. You are a pioneer, recognize opportunities, and turn them into commercial successes. You have good negotiation skills and think in creative solutions. Further more, you have:

• At least HBO working and thinking level;

• 2 to 4 years of work experience as a trader in a similar environment;

• Knowledge of the South American market is a plus;

• Good command of the English language, knowledge of the Spanish language is helpful but not necessary;

• Strong communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability;

• Self-starter and able to work independently;

• Willingness to travel regularly to South America for customer visits, trade fairs, and meetings.

Team and location

You will be working in our Trading team. Robert Groot is the Managing Director of the South America team. Our office of Royal Ingredients Group B.V. currently has 59 colleagues. In addition to the Trade department, we have the following departments: Logistics, Quality, Finance, and HR. Our office is located in the Overstad business park in Alkmaar. This is a great location because you can walk into the city within a few minutes. We also have parking facilities in a garage for cars and bicycles under our office, and the Alkmaar central station is a 10-minute walk away.
