The job
You will be primarily responsible for customs of several Cefetra Group companies. Approximately 75% of the work is customs related, the rest being tax related issues. The team consists of three professionals and is based in our Rotterdam office with a great view of the Maas River and the Erasmus Bridge. Working in Cefetra's tax and customs team in the role of customs specialist means that you will provide support and advice on all customs related matters. This means that you will be responsible for customs related topics as part of a wider tax control framework as well as overseeing customs related compliance and customs permit management. You will also support the business with new product related topics such as origin determination and commodity code classification. Cefetra’s customs (import) declarations are outsourced to external customs brokers. You will be assisting with customs broker management. Finally, you will support the business with the implementation of projects such as EUDR as well as new business development.
You are
Most important is that you can be critical and precise, but also pragmatic when needed. To be successful within Cefetra, it is important to have a 'self-starter' mentality, to be open-minded and curious. You should be able to work both independently and with people from all levels within the Cefetra Group. You should also be able to identify with the following requirements:
your educational background is equivalent to a bachelor’s or master’s degree
you have relevant experience in customs legislation;
experience within agri commodity business is a plus;
you have an excellent command of both Dutch and English (both verbally and written) any other languages are always a plus;
you have an entrepreneurial spirit, matching our company culture, and are highly motivated to succeed.
